Video Premiere | Fawns Of Love “Girls”

The year in music has been filled with surprises but no other artist has laid a groundwork smothered more in nostalgia, synth tones, and melancholia more than Fawns Of Love. The duo of Jenny and Joseph Andreotti recently released its Innocence Of Protection (Kingfisher Blues/Sunday Records), which expounded not only on its ethereal pop but shifted further, unwittingly culling together rhythms from long-forgotten subgenres. The ever-evolving Fawns Of Love has had a busy year but the group has just announced the release of its new EP, Unrequited Love Songs (Glass Modern) which is set to be released on February 4, 2022.

There’s no slow down for the California electro-pop duo and today the band shares the video for its new single “Girls.” The song’s atmospheric etherealness is fully realized with Jenny’s haunting vocals, washes of guitars, and urging bassline. Fawns Of Love offered this about the track:

“‘Girls’- Is inspired by Picnic at Hanging Rock (Peter Weir version) and celebrates Victorian eroticism where removal of a glove or stocking is portrayed as taboo. The music video uses the short film Zupa by Zbigniew Rybczyński.”

Unrequited Love Songs is up for pre-order here and the band has a few upcoming shows in the coming year. Dates listed below.

Upcoming Shows:

January 22 – Los Angeles, CA. @ Non Plus Ultra
March 9-13 -New York City, NY. @ New Colossus Festival
