Two Inch Astronaut to release Bad Brother, tour (2013)

Two Inch Astronaut are set to release their debut full-length, Bad Brother, on June 18 via Exploding In Sound Records.  Two Inch Astronaut is one of those bands that has somehow existed under the radar for years, though maybe it’s not an entirely bad thing, as it’s given the trio time to hone some very serious chops.  The Colesville, Maryland band, who have been playing music together since 2009, have churned out a steady ooze of EPs and 7″s between brief stints of touring over the past three years.  Stereogum today premiered the first track from the record, “Blood From a Loyal Hound,” the track has been cleared for re-posting and can be heard at: http://snd.sc/10e2cok
Drawing comparisons to bands such as The Dismemberment Plan, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Jawbox, the kinky, angular post-punk that Two Inch Astronaut churns out manages to be both reminiscent of the best ‘90s bands and simultaneously wholly original.  The band, who are also long-time friends, have plans to take their show on the road this spring and summer (tour dates below).

6/11 – Philadelphia, PA @ The Khyber
