Video Premiere: Sonic Dawn Shares New Video For "Psychedelic Ranger"

Copenhagen outfit, The Sonic Dawn, is set to release the new album Eclipse (Heavy Psych Sounds), on February 1st. It’s the band’s third LP and it encompasses just about the everything the band’s name probably implies. If you’re finding yourself suddenly attracted the group’s musical prowess, you wouldn’t be alone, grasping on flavors you either haven’t tasted in some time or never have.

It’s difficult to not say the band is a trip, as the mixture of psychedelic, heavy acid rock and pop from varying 60s and 70s eras have heavily influenced The Sonic Dawn’s signature style. That’s all obvious with “Psychedelic Ranger,” the video premiering today which pulls from all the aforementioned elements there. The video captures the smokey vibe of the band’s live performance with some cool still imagery, which was filmed during The Sonic Dawn’s recent sold-out tour with label mate Brant Bjork (Kyuss, Fu Manchu).

Of the video, the band says, “Put your mind on cruise control as the Psychedelic Ranger leads you into this 2:30 multicolored trip,” says vocalist Emil Bureau. “This song is for all the explorers, who search for a something, somewhere that can’t be placed on a map.”
