Earlier this month, LG Galleon released “Hello Mephisto,” his first solo single, via Lost in Ohio. Listen to it now: 

For more than a decade, LG has been the guiding voice behind Dead Leaf Echo, the Brooklyn art-rock collective whose reverb-drenched blend of shoegaze, dream pop, and post-punk have earned them comparisons to Spiritualized, Cocteau Twins, and Deftones, and drew collaborators like 4AD producer John Fryer and designer Vaughan Oliver. He also fronts Brooklyn post-punk outfit Clone, whose Martin Bisi-recorded debut CL. 1 trades atmosphere for agitation. 

“Hello Mephisto” takes its own dramatic turn. It opens on a peal of sad, gothic bells, backed by strumming acoustic guitars. Where Dead Leaf Echo bury feeling beneath cathedral layers of distortion and reverb, here LG pours that same charge into acoustic form, all without losing an ounce of edge or atmosphere. It’s a Faustian devotional: surrender and freedom collapsed into the same breath. 

“Hello Mephisto” arrives everywhere digitally on August 13, 2026, an early taste of a forthcoming full-length expected later in the year.
