HAIL MARY MALLON – IT’S PRONOUNCED, “BEAST-IARY.”

Phoenix, AZ – Rolling through town were Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic, who both record as the unit Hail Mary Mallon. Following their careers throughout the better part of 12 years I’ve seen the change, the growth in both artists. Rob Sonic early in his musical life Sonic Sum, the group he fronted which included other members within the band. Aesop Rock’s diversity and evolution has come almost effortlessly, from his Float album to last year’s Skelethon. Both Rob Sonic and Aesop Rock follow up their debut collaboration with their latest Bestiary, sometimes comical, and always bringing the heat of 1,000 suns.

At the Crescent Ballroom the duo patiently waits for the club to fill and take a few minutes with Ghettoblaster to discuss, collaborations, new material, and so much more. The duo’s latest effort Bestiary is nothing short of, for lack of a better term, a beast of sonic explorations, tongue in cheek lyrics, and simply a good time.
