Lovelorn, comprised of husband-and-wife duo Anna and Patrick Troxell, just performed at Psycho Las Vegas, and recently announced October tour dates (below).
Lovelorn were formed on the heels of their former project Creepoid, which allowed the pair to move forward in new territory. Their first LP, Whats Yr Damage, was released in 2021 on 6131 Records.
Their video for “Reason” also recently dropped. The video for “Reason” is directed, filmed and edited by Daniel Fried and produced by Anna Troxell.
“We wanted to reference the classic scene in Rock and Roll High School, in which Riff Randell puts on a Ramones record, and they appear in her bedroom and serenade her,” says Anna Troxell. “The theme of Lovelorn High was something that we started in our first video ‘Sickness Reward,’ so it was important for us to continue that narrative. Our Lovelorn High alum puts on Whats Yr Damage and is delighted to see Anna and Patrick appear, however he soon begins to be tormented by them. Rather than simply re-create the original scene, we push it into campy horror, with Lovelorn becoming cognizant of their ability to terrorize their summoner.”
