Homeboy Sandman Shares “Go Hard,” Announces New EP

Underground Hip-Hop mainstay Homeboy Sandman has announced a new release today, produced entirely by Aesop Rock namely Anjelitu (Mello Music Group). The new EP release follows up his highly touted 2020 album Don’t Feed The Monster, which is preceded by the new single “Go Hard.” While Aesop Rock has proven himself as an agile producer and beatmaker, he’s taken hold of the reins here on the 5-song release. Aes also appears on “Lice Team, Baby,” as the two reference the collaborative effort that has seen a number of record releases as LICE since 2015.

Of the single and release, Homeboy Sandman offers, “I wrote half of these songs when my energy was either headed in the wrong direction or already there. I wrote the other half while my energy was moving in a direction I’m more excited about, that I find to be more enriching. They’re all still my songs though. My mother, and lots of my relatives, used to call me “Angelito.” Little Angel. The taijitu is the symbol for yin and yang. Opposites that make a whole. Given the dualistic/duelistic nature of the songs on the record, put it all together and what do you get, Anjelitu.

“Go Hard in all I do otherwise what’s the point. This is one of my favorite beats I ever rapped over, Aes is the best for giving it to me.”  Anjelitu is set for release on August 6, 2021.
