Don’t Get Lemon Share, “Blow-Up”

Don’t Get Lemon is a cool, ironic, stylish, detached, danceable pop trio based in Austin and Houston, Texas. Commanding a sound that ranges from ’70s Berlin to ’80s Manchester, DGL seeks to entice the senses with their glam-infused synth-pop. There is an alternative to DGL, but could we live with it?

Sharing a name with Michaelangelo Antonioni’s 1966 swinging London film, Don’t Get Lemon’s “Blow-Up” glimpses into the unseen dark. Lyrics partially pieced together borrowing from William Burroughs’ cut-up technique and images inspired by David Lynch’s Blue Velvet, direct sweet melodies that reanalyze the three-minute pop song.

“Blow-Up” follows the release of Don’t Get Lemon’s debut album, Hyper Hollow Heaven (à La Carte Records), out March 29, 2022.
