Datarock Share New Video For “New Song”

Beloved Norwegian post-punk art rockers Datarock will celebrate the 15th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album Datarock Datarock (original version) with a special 500-copy limited edition, remastered orange 12” pressing, available on vinyl for the first time ever. The exciting collector’s item will be released for UK Record Store Day. Fans in the US & around the world can also purchase it via Datarock’s webstore.

Datarock Datarock was self-released on YAP Records in 2005, before major streaming services existed, and quickly found a rapturous international audience. Thanks in part to independent record stores selling and welcoming the band, their world expanded exponentially and gave them the opportunity to tour the globe. The band is thrilled to have this specialty release come out on Record Store Day.

The prolific band has created a slew of entertaining animations — Illustrated by frontman Fredrik Saroea and animated by the band’s original keyboard player Tom Mæland and Christoffer Aksnes (M’Labs) — to commemorate some of their career highlights. Today, they share a cheeky portion of their epic interview with esteemed Canadian icon Nardwuar discussing single “New Song”.
