The Kickback Share Video For "Sting's Teacher Years"

After wrapping up the first leg of their album release tour, which included a buzzed-about run at NYC’s CMJ Music Marathon, Chicago indie rockers The Kickback have debuted the adventurous video for lead single “Sting’s Teacher Years.” The premiere comes with a batch of winter shows alongside Quiet Company and news of a first-round announcement for SxSW 2016, all in continued support of the quartet’s debut album, Sorry All Over the Place, available now.
“Sting’s Teacher Years”

“Chicago alt-rockers The Kickback have delivered a raucous, fun, and even just a little bit scary spin on some of the music video’s best tales.”
Director Eric Braband claims the visual is quintessential Kickback sharing, “I’ve always known them to thrive on chaos. From the explosively fun chaos of their live shows, to the chaotic anxiety and self doubt that comes with trying to create something you hope other people will like.” Chock-full of antics and a healthy dose of suspense, the video captures the band’s recorded and live energy and details a plot line lead singer Billy Yost aptly describes as “Clerks with a heist-gone-wrong-supernatural-retribution-and-ultra-violence flavor instead of, you know, a convenience store.”
The video supports the first offering off the outfit’s debut LP, which was produced in full by Spoon’s Jim Eno. The collection of songs has been praised by Rolling Stone, Consequence of Sound, Nerdist ,Grantland, Huffington Post, Death + Taxes and more, including Greg Dulli (The Afghan Whigs), who sang the band’s praises on Twitter over the summer. October brought another incredibly successful CMJ run for the group, who played a handful of shows includingTaco Bell’s Feed the Beat Showcase, powered by Pandora and with headliners and fellow Feed the Beat alumni Tokyo Police Club.
The second arm of their US release run will include a special Chicago radio event and School Night set at Hollywood’s Bardot, followed by a return to SxSW, which announced The Kickback’s appearance in its first round.
