Sad Planets Shares Video/Single For "Yesterday Girl," Off Forthcoming Album

Sad Planets is the new project of John Petkovic (Death of Samantha, Sweet Apple, Cobra Verde, GBV) and Patrick Carney (Black Keys). The band just released the new video for “Yesterday Girls,” which is off the debut Akron, Ohio (Tee Pee Records), dropping April 19th, 2019.

The video was filmed in Nashville’s oldes dive bar, the Springwater Supper Club and Lounge. Once the talk of the town, the club was host to characters such as Al Capone, Jimmy Hoffa, Hank Williams Sr., David Allen Coe, and more recently, Taylor Swift and Kidd Rock.

For the video opener, Patrick Carney plays pool with Cheetah Chrome (Rocket From The Tomb, Dead Boys) who we haven’t seen since his appearance in the Ramones’ “Pet Sematary” video. Of the video’s concept, John Petkovic who directed the shoot says, “It’s a tale of low-rent chivalry set in a dive bar. A guy walks in, gets insulted and starts fighting. A girl walks away, unimpressed with it all. And twelve pool sticks were broken in the process.”
