With lyrics that are deeply introspective and filled with vitality, longtime tourmate of Morrissey Kristeen Young is a tour de force.  She credits her influences from riot grrl, opera, to R&B sounds.  No matter what, Young’s captures you with songs that have a flare for the theatrics (a trait that suits her perfectly).
Recently, Young shared the Jenn Alva (Girl in a Coma) directed video for the single “You Always Win”, which will be on her upcoming release Live at the Witch’s Tit on September 29.  Co-produced by Tony Visconti, Live at the Witch’s Tit boldly pushes the issues of race and gender; experiences of growing up in the foster care system and other life events often are used as subject matter in the album.
