Honest Iago covers The Postal Service, readies 29 Palms for July release

Honest Iago (pronounced “yah-go”) will release their sophomore album 29 Palms on July 27. The album is available to pre-order now at Bandcamp. This week the band revealed their cover of The Postal Service’s “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight” from the forthcoming release. The song can be streamed at Soundcloud or Spotify.

About the song Honest Iago’s guitarist Nick Norton says:
I think part of what makes playing in Honest Iago really fun is that we’re ostensibly a punk band, but between us we listen to and are involved in a huge range of styles of music. We’re huge Postal Service fans and The District Sleeps Alone Tonight was EVERYWHERE when we were starting out. Their music has meant a lot to us over the years. We had never played covers before this one, but when we realized how well the ending worked as a punk song we kind of couldn’t say no to putting our own spin on it and paying homage in our own way to this music we all love.
