Ghettoblaster Throwback Thursday With The Afghan Whigs

The staff doesn’t always agree on music, art, politics or life in general here, but one thing everyone can agree on is the Afghan Whigs. The band from Cincinnati, Ohio has been churning out albums since 1988’s Big Top Halloween.  The group didn’t hit national success until they released Congregation back in 1992. The third album by the band proved to be pivotal in its success, scoring hits like “Turn On The Water” and “Conjure Me.”  The band is set to release In Spades,  it’s eighth album, this year. The Afghan Whigs attempt to stay topical and on top of mind has worked.  The Whigs shared it’s new video “Demon In Profile” earlier this month and it’s been on repeat. Here’s a look back at band.
