Translational Drifts EP features contemporary acts reinterpreting electronic pioneers

“Translational Drifts: Moogfest Vol. 1,” is the first EP in a series of free digital recordings that feature contemporary acts reinterpreting seminal electronic music influencers that have shaped past Moogfest lineups.
Pitchfork’s  says, “What is so striking about Moses Sumney’s rendition of “O Superman” is how warm, humid, and human it all sounds.”  Dan Deacon’s choice of covering Brian Eno’s “1/1” taken from the groundbreaking “Ambient 1: Music for Airports” is a perfect pairing just as ADULT’s inspirational choice of Pet Shop Boys, Shopping “Seemed to feel the most natural and lyric wise made the most sense, given Detroit’s current landscape – “We’re buying and selling your history,” Says ADULT.
Their renditions pay tribute to a rich history of electronic music, with new sounds that continue to push further into the future. YACHT, who was a contributor and previous Moogfest curator, praises the company behind the collaboration, “We love how Moog brings artists together. The sound of the machines and the culture of the company are like a bridge across genres and generations.”
This digital free EP comes in celebration of this week’s Moogfest ‘Save The Date’ announcement in its new location Durham NC. The three-day event will run from May 19-22, 2016. We’d love if you can share this EP with your readers along with the Date for Moogfest 2016.
