Rudely Interrupted has overcome great odds to stand out amongst their peers in the Australian music scene. Despite featuring members with various special needs, the group has received strong acclaim for its four studio recordings to date and have toured extensively worldwide, performing at prestigious events at the United Nations in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
“The music video for ‘I Am Alive’ tells the story of the band’s travels and tours around the globe, from airports to hotels, from the suitcases to the stage,” explains guitarist Rohan Brooks. “While our personal journey is full of life and love, there’s also heartache and loss, but that’s what it means to be alive. We should also celebrate the emotional roller coaster that is ‘life’ because that’s what being ‘ALIVE’ is; all of its ups and downs. Sing it, ‘I Am Alive,’ it helps with the pain of loss and remembering who we all are: human.”
I Am Alive finds Rudely Interrupted continuing to delve deeper into pop rock with even richer melodies and hooks. Recorded in Australia, the band split the recording between local studio Tender Trap and Brooks’ home studio. While certain songs tackle world renowned criminals (“Bernie Made Off”) to the struggles with falling in love (“Code Red”), the symbol of hope is layered within each track.
