Geoff Rickly launches Collect Records

Following a diverse array of formative co-releases – including the debut records from Touché Amore, Midnight Masses, and United Nations – the Brooklyn-based Collect Records strikes out on its own and announces its official label launch this week.
Founded in 2009 by Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly, the present-day Collect Records aims to be as distinct as its history suggests. The label’s first year of releases will include the sophomore album from D.C.-based post-rock experimentalists Black Clouds, a debut single and full-length album from Vanishing Life (featuring members of Quicksand and …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead), a co-release with Terrible Records from hardcore provocateurs Sick Feeling, and more yet to be announced.
On Monday, June 30, from 7-9 PM (EST), as part of the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, DJ Dan Carter will also be making a special internationally-coordinated announcement and global radio premiere regarding Collect’s first official signing and release, marking a new era for both this artist and the label alike. (U.S. listeners will be able to tune in live via the BBC Radio 1 website). In the meantime, Collect will open its social media portals to the public (on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram, among others), with a full website to coincide with next week’s announcement.
