Don Giovanni Records sign Downtown Boys, Mal Blum, Pinkwash

Don Giovanni Records has announced three 2015 signings: Downtown Boys, Mal Blum, and Pinkwash. Downtown Boys are a bilingual political sax punk party hailing from Providence, RI. Their songs confront topics such as smashing the prison-industrial complex, racism, queerphobia, capitalism, fascism, boredom, and the things people say to try to close our minds, eyes, and hearts. Notorious for their live shows, they will enter Electrical Audio to record their debut album due out in 2015.
Brooklyn singer-songwriter Mal Blum will make his Don Giovanni Records debut in 2015 with the release of a full length album produced by Marissa Paternoster (Screaming Females, Noun). Some may recognize Mal from the song with Chris Gethard on his comedy album released via DG earlier this year. After extensive touring and some incredible self-released albums, Don Giovanni is thrilled to welcome the band to their stellar roster.
With just one cassette tape under their belts Pinkwash has already solidified their standing as one of the best bands in Philadelphia through their engaging live shows. Impeccably treading the line between melodic and crushing, the drum and guitar duo made up of Ashley Arnwine & Joey Doubeck will release their debut on Don Giovanni Records in 2015.
