All Boy/All Girl share video for "Lion," tour (2015)

All Boy/All Girl are sharing their latest music video for “Lion” today via We All Want Someone To Shout For together with their upcoming U.S. tour dates.
While the septet’s previous video “Glitters” was wild and deranged, “Lion” takes a more serene and beautiful approach to visually representing All Boy/All Girl’s music. Directed by Sara Montironi, the video explores themes of traveling and the inevitable change that comes with it. We All Want Someone called “Lion” a “haunting track that lingers with you during and long after your listen” before noting the video is “a wonderful accompaniment for the song, with some of the best cinematography you’ll find from a music video all year.”
Talking about her direction and vision for the video, Montironi said, “The “Lion” video is about traveling. Finding the means, in order to reach that place. The unconscious place. When it has been reached, it isn’t how you expected it to be. And at the end of the travel, unwittingly you’ve changed.” All Boy/All Girl explore similar themes within the song’s meaning, describing it as being about “a pursuit of greatness, and how that pursuit can be alienating. The lion stands in as a metaphor for the power hungry politician or the greedy wall street banker, who finds that the view from the top is a lonely one. The director, Sara Montironi, chose to depict a different type of protagonist, whose journey is equally as isolating and self-motivated.”
Trophy, the band’s latest EP was released on March 3 via Grind Select (Moon Bounce), is an intimate record from the New York based septet – Danielle Lovier (vocals/ukulele), Jessie Rogowski (vocals/guitar), Joshua Curry (guitars), Hannah Levinson (viola), Richard Vaudrey (cello), Nicholas Rahn (bass), Joey Campanella (drums) – exploring new sonic territories and texture combining pop, avant-garde jazz, indie rock, and a knack for the theatrical.
