The Bay Area has been the breeding ground for a number of varying artists to breathe life into the multitude of genres throughout music. Whether it’s Hip-Hop, Indie Rock, R&B, the area has been hallowed by those touched with creativity by a higher power. The Pendletons, made up of E Da Boss and Trailer Limon, should be mentioned among those.

The group debuted with its first release back in 2010, a 7″ vinyl disc “Coming Down/Waiting On You” (Slept On Records) which was hailed as an underground classic and collectors were quick to snatch it up at just about any cost. Throughout the years the group has recorded a handful of 7″ singles and EPs to critical acclaim, and now with a live band that includes a full horn section, The Pendletons have returned with a fresh sound ready to turn heads.

Today the band premieres the stunning new single “Life To Me” (Bastard Jazz), which is heavy on the funk and R&B tip, with a slick bassline that propels the track.

Of the single, Trailer Limon of The Pendletons say:

Life to Me came about from a tight groove that the band threw down that was then chopped up and fashioned into a song.  We loved the driving slap bassline with the analog Roland brass.  Carl Locket (Shalamar, Rick James) then added the perfect guitar chops and I (Trailer Limon) was inspired to write something that matched the vibe of the jam.  The song ended up being about the spiritual commitment of a deep relationship, inspired by my wife.
