Song Premiere | Lost Friend, ‘Little x Little’

Ohio’s Lost Friend promise to carry the banner for moody indie pop forward in 2025 with The Promises You Don’t Keep (Poptek Records) EP, which sees release on May 23, 2025. The EP is packed with guilt, shame, and sensitivity, delivered by the enigmatic and sultry voice and mind of Christopher Palassis (guitarist in XL427, formerly of Second Best and L’Albatros).

Today, the band premieres the second single from the effort, “Little x Little.”

“Relationships, long or short, experience seasonal changes,” says Palassis. “A multi-decade partnership can only survive with brutal honesty. What’s the point if you don’t have mutual trust? This song explores that.

“I thought it would be cool to keep it a bit contemplative, with my ever-deepening voice and bass only…and I hate playing a D chord, but the song wrote itself with one,” he adds.

Lost Friend drummer, backing vocalist and keyboardist Andy Ingram finds difficulty in the restraint the song calls for initially.

“The simplicity of only Christopher’s voice and bass creates the sentiment of this song, but this one is really hard to not play on,” Ingram admits. “I think we played it live a time or two and it’s a test of my self control to not play until the end. When it gets going we make up for the long, quiet lead in with as much of a jam session as any Poptek band will dare to jam.”
