Los Angeles-based rock band and super-group ÆGES are currently in the midst of a short run of dates in support of their debut album The Bridge, out now on The Mylene Sheath. They’ve taken along guests Silver Snakes, and wrapping up with a one-off Los Angeles date at the end of the month supporting Black Breath (dates below). Ghettoblaster caught up with Larry Herweg (Pelican, Tusk) to ask about whether he’s backed his snuggie and about Kemble Walter’s Skrillex hairdo. Here’s what he had to say…
What kind of vehicle are you travelling in, and what are you doing to outfit it for maximum comfort?
Kemble’s driving in his Miata with our gear and me (Larry) and Tony are trailing him on our Vespas. Shit is tight.
What is the planned playlist for your travels?
Kemble’s been blasting dubstep since the tour started. He even got his Skrillex hairdo on. Pre show jam to pump our loins=”Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen. Post show jams to wind down to=”Lu Lu” in its entirety.
Which of the cities that you’ll be visiting are you most excited about and why?
LA, cause it’s our day off.
Which of your destinations are you most anxious about?
Whiskey Dicks in Lake Tahoe. The name just brings back bad memories.
What are the top three essential, must-have items that you take on the road with you?
1. A Flow-bee to keep Tony’s hair nice and trim.
2. Snuggies for comfortable sleep.
3. The novel “The Secret.”
What will you miss most about home while you are away?
“Juicy” sweat pants.
Do you keep a diary during your travels? If so, is it public? Can we share it?
Go fuck yourself.
What is the crazy thing you’ve seen on the road during this or other tours?
Well let’s put it this way, we learned that midgets don’t like to be picked up.
