Oceans In The Sky Shares “Taipei” From Forthcoming Parallels LP for Heading East Records

New York City’s Oceans in the Sky (formerly known as Mugen) released the single “Taipei” on all streaming platforms via Heading East Records recently. Heading East Records is the new label of Fred Mascherino, known for his vocals and guitar in Taking Back Sunday and The Color Fred. This is the third song to be released from Oceans in the Sky’s forthcoming debut album, Parallels, which sees release in January 2023.

“The most exciting part about writing ‘Taipei’ was working with my friend 陳妍心 Sylvie Chen for the first time. She plays pipa, a traditional Chinese instrument, on four songs on the album. It’s an incredibly difficult instrument to play and she’s a master. Growing up listening to Chinese pop and rock, it’s been a joy working with her to make music that feels completely unique and true to who I am.”

The single was written by Liam Frost and produced by Jon Markson (Drug Church) and Liam Frost. Pipa parts were written and recorded by 陳妍心 Sylvie Chen at 新奇鹿錄音室 Saturday Studio. The single was mixed by Jon Markson, and mastered by Brian Lucey (Green Day, Post Malone).
