Video Premiere | Amora, ‘Harrigan’s (Acoustic)’

Today, Amora shares its video of “Harrigan’s,” performed acoustically with help from Shannon Murphy on viola and Lilito on vocals. The song is the most pop-forward, hooky single from the post-hardcore act to date.

Guitarist/vocalist Tristan Wikler says:

“It was a really interesting thing to do. The song is very percussion-driven between the bass and the drums, especially in the verse. Trying to recreate that, to do something outside of that, and to mellow it out and letting the lyrics breathe more than the instruments is a really cool take on it. A different way to tell the story of the song through a different lens.

“’Harrigan’s’ is about losing someone you love, feeling guilty for not being able to save them, finding pieces of them someone knew, then being afraid to get close to anyone because if you don’t let them in you can’t let them down.”

From the same Philadelphia suburbs that grew predecessors Circa Survive, Balance and Composure, and Pink comes post hardcore band Amora.

Since 2014, the band itself has grown in an eclectic powerhouse, combining the influences of Thursday, Alexisonfire, and Underoath with one goal, to aim for a nostalgic yet modernized sound that does not compromise grit.

On the heels of their recent EP, Cutting Teeth, the band has seen itself signing to producer Fred Mascherino’s (Taking Back Sunday, Say Anything) label Heading East Records, and opening for the likes of He Is Legend and Kaonashi to playing festivals alongside The Bronx and Pyscostick.
