Nightmares For A Week Shares New Single "Celebrations"

Kingston, NY based trio Nightmares For A Week (NFAW) released the title track to their forthcoming album Celebrations. The new album is set to drop October 5th in vinyl and digital format via Boneshaker Records this is the first full-length release from the band in over five years. As such, it is ten tracks of sun-soaked, stripped-down and upbeat rock as informed by the band’s emo youth as it is by the ragged indie songwriting of The Replacements.
“We’re not oblivious to all the heaviness in the world right now. We just wanted to make a record that provided some levity for us and others” said Sean-Paul Pillsworth (bass/vocals). There’s a recurring theme of nature and the memories it sparks throughout such as on tracks “Summer” and “Penance.” There’s also hidden emotional depth behind the shimmer such as on “Beautiful Boy” which could be NFAW’s version of a doo-wop love ballad from the American Graphitti era. However, Pillsworth revealed that guitarist/vocalist Bill Manley’s wrote the song about a cat. “Bill’s dog died recently and he’s allergic to cats but he wanted to adopt this hypoallergenic cat. It started off good and they bonded but it became obvious that he was still allergic and had to say goodbye to the cat.”
