Goth Babe Shares New Single “Alone in the Mountains”

Just in time for Earth Day and the kick off for his US tour, Goth Babe has shared his newest single, “Alone in the Mountains,” out on Mom+Pop Music. Founded by former Tennessean Griff Washburn, Goth Babe is Griff just enjoying himself. Whether living with his dog Sadie in his former tiny home, a campervan or his current 38 foot off-grid sailboat named LOLA, Griff, along with his mobile studio, has been able to incorporate his love for a nomadic life, the outdoors and giving back to the environment, with his talent at making perfectly crafted, joyful indie/electronic music with no restraints.

The outdoors and conservation have played an important part in Goth Babe’s life and career as a musician, so sharing new music on Earth day is especially poignant for Washburn. One of the causes he holds near and dear is Conservation Lands Foundation, an organization that protects public and native lands in America. Last year he launched a vinyl and merch to donate to the organization.  For this year he started a petition asking fans to help protect the public and native lands of Avi Kwa Ame aka Spirit Mountain in southern Nevada (506K acres). Just last week he shared that over 1,000 signatures were received and Biden officially signed to protect the land under The Antiquities Act making it a national monument and protected land.

Goth Babe’s LOLA headline tour kicks off tomorrow, April 22nd with warm up gigs at Aspen’s Belly Up and Denver’s Mission Ballroom (April 23rd) before he takes the mainstage at a sold out Red Rocks Amphitheatre show.  The tour is selling out quickly and includes stops at NYC’s Pier 17 (5/5) and Chicago’s The Salt Shed (5/10). The tour picks back up in July with a big west coast show at LA’s Greek Theater, taking him through September to the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Vegas and finishing off at NYC’s Forest Hills Stadium with Sylvan Esso. Touring has always been a way for Washburn to give back and $1 of every ticket will be donated to Protect Our Winters, and organization that helps passionate outdoor people protect the places and lifestyles they love from climate change. As a member of Protect our Winters creative alliance team, Goth Babe previously released a POW EP, with all proceeds going to the cause. You can learn more about POW at https://protectourwinters.org. Since founding Goth Babe in 2015, Washburn has partnered with environmentally conscious brands to share his music to the world in unconventional ways. With outdoor brand Arc’Teryx, he traveled to Iceland to create an original music for Creation Theory, a film directed by Ben Sturgulewski and Ben Moon that seeks to find the parallels between sport and music, and answer the question: where does creativity come from? The film went on to win The Banff Film Festival’s Creative Excellence Award, Spain’s Mendi Film Festival’s Best Soundtrack and Vimeo’s Staff Award Pick. The music was released in the form of Surfing In Iceland EP in 2022. With Kombucha brand JuneShine, he recently launched a signature Goth Babe hard kombucha named after his 2019 single, “Weekend Friend,” with 1% of sales going to Protect Our Winters.
