Drab Majesty readies 7", tours (2016)

Drab Majesty, the solo project of Deb DeMure, will release a new two-song seven inch, titled The Heiress / The Demon, this Friday on Weyrd Son Records.  B-side, “The Demon,” was previously unreleased until this 7inch and Post-Punk.com has premiered the song here.  Like most of his music, “The Demon” can be described as “tragic wave” or goth mid-fi, and Drab Majesty combines pulsing synthesizers with colorful post-punk in colorful ways.  In a world of dark music that conjures greyscale imagery, mastermind Deb DeMure’s creations shine neon bright.
Drab Majesty released his Unarian Dances debut LP back in 2012 and followed it up with 2015’s Careless LP, through DAIS Records (Youth Code, Genesis P-Orridge, King Dude, Cold Cave, etc.).  Careless was highly acclaimed by critics and fans alike, and the LA Record said Drab Majesty “…occupies the creative sweet spot between ice and warmth, producing an album that is the aural equivalent of floating suspended in an isolation tank.”  Most recently, Drab Majesty released a an 18-song compilation from all of his collective works from 2012-2015 called Completely Careless (DAIS Records).
Now, as Deb prepares for the release of The Heiress / The Demon 7inch, he’ll kick off a European this Friday, April 7th.  The tour will span two and a half weeks and immediately following his return to the states, Drab Majesty will tour the U.S. alongside True Widow.  All tour dates can be found below.
