Detroit rapper Young RJ has been comfortable sitting behind the scenes for some time, but now? He’s ready to step into the spotlight. With a history as a producer & member of Slum Village, today, RJ officially released his debut solo album Blaq Royalty. The album features Boldy James, Pete Rock, and Joyner Lucas to name a few. It presents a classic “Slum” hip-hop approach, but still sounds fresh with joints like “Issues” (which features BJ the Chicago Kid), “Wait” (featuring Pete Rock & Boldy James) and “Motion” (featuring Joyner Lucas & Statik Selektah.)
According to Young RJ himself, “It is written ‘Change is the Only True Constant’ …my debut album, Blaq Royalty, reflects change and growth for me musically.”
