Pacific Northwest ensemble General Mojos found their voice within the richly established DIY scene, performing primarily in house shows. While shimmering psych-pop presence in the music has cemented itself, the band has widened their influences in their forthcoming album Cycles via Dutch Records. Today, General Mojos have dropped a single featured on Cycles titled “Turn Back The Pages.”
Cycles is centered around cycles and patterns, both positive or destructive, that everyone experiences. Cascading synth lines, atmospheric vocals, and fuzzed-out guitars highlight the buzzed blur of performing, the energy of a dance floor, the short-lived thrill of escapism, sourness of lost opportunities and relationships, and the awareness of cycles in life and choosing to reconcile with them or not. Contributions from recent members Skyler Mehal (guitar) and William Mapp (drums) help to add new spices into the cosmic stew of the Mojo soundscape.
Cycles is available for vinyl preorder on General Mojos Bandcamp site.
