For the rest of his life, Flaural’s frontman Collin Johnson will look at March 27th as one of the most challenging days of the year. This date marks his father succumbing to the long, hard-fought battle with ALS back in 2017. Fortunately for Johnson, he was able to lean on his other bandmates during the rough patch. At the time, Flaural was in the process of putting the arrangements for their LP Postponement.
Today on the second anniversary, Johnson and company release the closer to Postponement, “1616”. The video for the latest single follows the release of the lead single “The Thinker,” which tells the story of Johnson’s father and the illness that ultimately took his life. For “1616”, driving bass lines and contemporary guitar walk along dense synth sound. The single also features Johnson’s vocals sailing naturally from an ambient start to a rousing finish.
Postponement is slated for release April 19 via Staycation Records.
