Rising Brooklyn-based grunge-pop duo Sub*t – of Jade Alcantara and Grace Bennett – shared “Mirror Image” today, the infectious final single off their debut album How My Own Voice Sounds, due out May 1st, 2026. The textured track features melodic, magnetic vocal play between the duo and arrives with a clever self-directed video. “This song is about looking deep within yourself and facing the hard parts you aren’t proud of. We did something fun on the bridge–it’s actually a reversal of our voices,” Sub*T says. “It’s also a song about how emotions can haunt you until you reconcile with them. For the video we knew we wanted to fully play into this idea, and what better way than a ghost story in a creaky old house in New Jersey, where the thing haunting you is just yourself?” How My Own Voice Sounds is available for pre-save HERE.
“Mirror Image” follows “Sister Species” and “Overcomplicate.” Sub*T recently announced a hometown album release show at Elsewhere’s Zone One on May 9th; tickets are available HERE.
