Meatbodies Share Epic “Move”

Meatbodies new single “Move” is an epic full journey spanning from hypnotic, drone-y groove into a full-on psychedelic freak-out. Its opening icy, circular synth bassline recalls Martin Rev/Suicide, then slithers into a Spaceman 3 groove before blossoming into a total rock-acid blowout. It’s one of the many highlights from Meatbodies’ soon-to-be-released, Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom (In The Red) out 3/8/24, and hits today alongside its video directed by The Erickas. “I wanted to make a hypnotic driving song that felt kind of dangerous. There’s an energy to it that is undeniable” comments frontman Chad Ubovich. Listen and watch below.

Meatbodies’ latest undertaking and borderline lost album, Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom is their most realized work to date. Ubovich faces the trials of sobriety, redemption, and reinvention – all while literally learning to walk and play again.

Resurrection not only accompanies the record, but its production as well, Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom examines themes surrounding love and loss, escapism, defeatism, hedonism, psychedelics and much more. “The last record was more of a cartoon version of who we were– simple and fun without delving into heavy concepts,” recalls Ubovich. “The whole thing before with Meatbodies was never sit down, next part, next part, but I wanted to make something with more depth. After everything that had happened and my personal life, I was left with this feeling of emptiness and loss. So I wanted to make music that was absent from things– songs that were more about conveying feeling.”
