Mascots Share Retro Video For “Figure It Out”

Cincinnati-based pop punk quintet Mascots have shared a new music video and single called “Figure It Out.” The montage features an archive of retro footage that showcases American pop culture throughout the ’50s and ’60s.

The music video captures the rat race lyrics of “Figure It Out,” mixing vintage clips of picture-perfect lives with the tedious grind of working every day. Production of the track was handled by Seth Henderson (Real Friends, Knuckle Puck, Homesafe) at Always Be Genius Recording Studio.

“The song is about how sometimes in life you feel like you are stuck on a roller coaster of ups and downs,” says vocalist Chris Henderson. “One moment you might feel like a failure and you’re not really getting ‘anywhere’ but other times you feel like you have really figured out the puzzle of life.”

Mascots originally formed in in 2014 and since then have had a string of prolific EP releases with Nothing To Lose (2016), The Good In Me (2017), Time To Time (2017), and Butterfly Effect (2018). Over the summer of 2017, they were chosen to play the main stage of the Vans Warped Tour alongside Beartooth, Hands Like Houses, and Neck Deep. The band has been conquering the Midwest, one DIY venue at a time, playing shows with Tiny Moving Parts, Broadside, Microwave, Hot Mulligan, A Will Away, Life Lessons, and many more.
