Goat Share Video For Second Single “Fill My Mouth”

GOAT, the Swedish masked psych-collective, has today released their second new single, “Fill My Mouth,” an infectious and scuzzy psychedelic funk knockout, the sleaziest thing the band has ever recorded. The single is from the band’s forthcoming album Headsoup (Rocket Recordings), a compilation of rarities spanning the band’s career; featuring standalone singles, B-sides, and two brand new tracks coming out 27th August.

“Fill My Mouth”, follows “Queen of the Underground”, a swaggering psychedelic powerhouse of the very highest order which was released last month – both of the new tracks were recorded towards the end of 2020, which show that Goat is far from evolving.

Sometimes dark and heavy, at others joyous and beautiful, Headsoup is mysterious and constantly shapeshifting, difficult to properly pin down but always enthralling. Jazz-flute solos, pounding Afrobeat rhythms, ferocious desert blues, drifting Ethio-jazz, and churning drones are just a fraction of their dazzling mix of influences. This is, as the name of Goat’s first album made clear, World Music in its most complete form, a sound unrestrained by genre boundaries, although the band is anything but lazy appropriators. They approach their forebears with utmost reverence, providing a celebratory cultural cross-pollination.
