Returning, not long after dropping his last single/video “Better You“, The Los Angeles bred emcee, Evidence, drops the new video for his latest single, “Pardon Me.” On the track, Evidence rhymes with lyrics bordering on the existential, as he and director Stephen Vanasco visualize the song through fuzzy mountain landscapes. The lyrics he writes come across melancholic but fierce and direct with “I ain’t good with 16 I need more to spit / be bleeding I ain’t over it / nothing corporate / incorporate what I learned and pay the mortgages / never forfeiting / or forbidding what the greatness of my aura is / I’m orbiting / my son gave me more living…” but it gives fans an idea of where he’s heading.
Evidence is laying the foundation for his next release Unlearning Vol. 1 (Rhymesayers), which is set to drop on June 25. The album includes fourteen-track and pairs Evidence’s production with other notables, Nottz, Sebb Bash, Animoss, Mr. Green, V Don, Daringer, Khrysis, and EARDRUM (QThree), and constant collaborator The Alchemist.
