Cheater Slicks Return With “Fear,” Announce New Album

Cheater Slicks, the renowned Columbus Ohio trio returns with the video for the new single in “Fear.” The track is off the band’s musically diverse Ill-Fated Cusses, which is the band’s first album in eight years as it returns to the Los Angeles based In The Red Records which released some of the band’s earliest set of recordings. Now 20 years later, the band returns to its former home for its new release.

While it may have taken more time than the band would have liked, much like everyone else, they had to contend with Covid. But after a false start, the group is set to release Ill-Fated Cusses on February 24, 2023. “Fear” offers up what fans remember of the group; double-edged sword-like guitars volleying for dominance, dirty and sludge-filled rhythms, and a hankering for dissonance and feedback. Of the new album itself, Tom Shannon says “Songwriting-wise, I think Ill-Fated Cusses is one of the strongest records we’ve done.”
