BONGZILLA Shares 13-minute Performance Of “Earth Bong/Smoked/Mags Bags”

Wisconsin’s sludge behemoths BONGZILLA release a 13-minute monster track from their awaited fifth studio album Weedsconsin (Heavy Psych Sounds), out 4/20 on Heavy Psych Sounds. Watch the thunderous trio perform “Earth Bong/Smoked/Mags Bags.”

It’s been 16 long years since Bongzilla released their last album, 2005’s ‘Amerijuanican’. But come 4/20, the drought is due to end with the release of ‘Weedsconsin’, the riff-worshipping dragonauts’ heavy-hitting return to action. The crushing and trance-inducing 13-minute performance for “Earth Bong/Smoked/Mags Bags” is taken from the band’s latest studio session “BONGZILLA – Live from Weedsconsin! (Space TV)”, produced by Dustin Boyle at TheSpaceShip.tv

The new album Weedsconsin is BONGZILLA’s first recording as a thunderous three-piece — with Mike Makela moving from guitar to bass since Cooter Brown’s departure. Approaching songs as a trio has created more space and allowed the band to showcase their musicianship in a new way, resulting in a crushingly heavy stomp along the lines of ‘Gateway’, while being sonically clearer and more inclined to mind-expanding jams, setting ‘Weedsconsin’ apart from earlier material. Listen to the album’s previous singles “Sundae Driver” and “Free The Weed“. “In the times of old. The Ancients made their Bong from digging holes in the Mother Soil,” says Bongzilla frontman Mike “Muleboy” Makela about the new song and video.
