Activity Shares “Scissors”

Brooklyn, NY four-piece Activity shares “Scissors,” the menacing and hypnotic second single made available from the upcoming album titled A Thousand Years In Another Way (Western Vinyl), recorded with producer Jeff Berner (from Psychic TV and Shilpa Ray) and mastered by Heba Kadry, due for release June 6th, 2025. The band has also confirmed a celebratory hometown Record Release Show set to take place at Union Pool on June 12th.

“Scissors” features vocals from Jess Rees, who shares: “The song is about being intentionally reckless and breaking things apart, knowing you’re doing it. About not being precious, and digging into that pile of parts inside and finding a better way with what you already have,” adding, “I was listening to Beak> a lot at the time.”

The release of “Scissors” is accompanied by a video directed by Yasmeen Night, who shares: “Listening to ‘Scissors’ made me feel like I was in a trance, or a dream state. In the video, I wanted to lean on the concept of coming in and out of consciousness. Opening and closing your eyes – forgetting what is real and what isn’t.”

The current lineup of Activity features vocalist and guitarist Travis Johnson (from Grooms), bassist Bri DiGioia, guitarist Jess Rees (from Russian Baths), and new drummer Brian Alvarez (from The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Peel Dream Magazine) has since joined after A Thousand Years In Another Way was recorded, following the amicable departure of Steven Levine, who directed the video for previous single “In Another Way.”
