Video Premiere: Ursula 1000, "Swing Boom Bop"

In 1999, Alex Gimeno – aka Ursula 1000 – set dance floors whirling with his debut platter The Now Sound of Ursula 1000. Over the next 20 years Gimeno delivered seven studio full-lengths, a pair of DJ mix albums, and remixes for celebrated peers from Quincy Jones to Felix Da Housecat.

Ursula 1000s forthcoming Esoterique (Insect Queen Music). finds him at his best. Having performed in more than 30 countries, Ursula 1000 is fluent in the international language of dance and capitalizes on the artist’s understanding of cha-cha, bossa nova, nu jazz, house, and other distinct grooves.

Today, Ghettoblaster has the pleasure of sharing the video for “Swing Boom Bop,” sets your fingers snapping with bubbly double bass and coquettish vocals. The song features Loredana Grimaudo (of Swingrowers) The video was directed by B.A. Miale and filmed by Pietro Vaglica at Lemov Studio.
