Video Premiere: Dead Horse One, “Falling”

Hailing from Valence in the south of France, Dead Horse One have announced their anticipated third album The West Is The Best.  For the new album, the band returned to the studio with the producer John Loring and Mark Gardner, who mixed the album.

When commenting on the new album’s title and album cover, the band’s lead singer/songwriter, Olivier Debard, stated that ”The West is The Best” concerns a variety of complex contemporary and cultural themes and is therefore intentionally ambiguous. Debard continues that the album thematically is “a collection of thwarted love songs in the spirit of Sparklehorse and other such 90’s bands”.

Today, Dead Horse One has released the video to the single “Falling.”  “Our new song “Falling” talks about having a child and seeing it grow,” the band says.  “Each verse corresponds to a period of life. This song was partly inspired by the character played by Ethan Kawke in Boyhood.  I grew up alone in a small town. I remember very well this feeling of wandering, to not belonging to the real world..like falling. That’s the whole subject of the song.”
