With Adore Life, one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2016, set for release on January 22, Savages today release their stunning new track “Adore.” Marrying Jehnny Beth’s commanding vocals and evocative facial expressions with intimate close-ups of the band, oscillating rhythms, and surging guitars, the affecting ballad is inspired by the American poet Minnie Bruce Pratt. Watch the haunting video directed by Anders Malmberg (Mew, Mø) with lighting and concept design by Tobias Rylander (The xx, Lykke Li, FKA Twigs) here.
To mark the release of their sophomore album, the quartet will embark on a massive 2016 world tour, kicking off in Europe before bringing their brutally spellbinding live show to major U.S. markets in March and April, including a just-announced Coachella booking.
Savages’ second album, Adore Life, was recorded at RAK Studios, London in April 2015. Johnny Hostile was the producer and Richard Woodcraft the engineer. Anders Trentemøller took care of the mixing in Copenhagen.
All songs were written and played by Savages – Ay?e Hassan (bass), Fay Milton (drums), Gemma Thompson (guitar), Jehnny Beth (vocals). Lyrics by Jehnny Beth.
