The Coup Shares New Single "OYAHYTT" ft. Lakeith Stanfield

Oakland-based hip-hop collective The Coup has released a new single called “OYAHYTT” ft. Lakeith Stanfield. The track appears in the trailer and closing credits for Sorry to Bother You, the new film starring Stanfield and written/directed by The Coup’s Boots Riley.

“OYAHYTT” (which stands for “OhYeahAlrightHellYeahThatsTight”) is the first song from the forthcoming soundtrack album for Sorry to Bother You. Along with The Coup and Stanfield, the Sorry to Bother You soundtrack includes a remarkably diverse lineup of featured artists.

Released on July 6, Sorry to Bother You stars Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Terry Crews, Danny Glover, Armie Hammer, and more. The film has scored a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the New Yorker hailing it as a “scintillating comedic outburst of political imagination and visionary fury” and the Village Voice calling it a “spectacular orgy of fist-pumping, anti-capitalist, pro-labor ideas rolled into 105 minutes of gloriously unpredictable plot.”
