Hailing from a rich musical lineage, Bebel Gilberto is the the daughter of Brazilian singer/songwriter João Gilberto and singer/composer Miúcha. With her highly acclaimed release Tanto Tempo in 2000, Gilberto introduced her now-trademark blend of electronic bossa nova. Today, Gilberto is one of the top-selling Brazilian artists in the U.S.
On September 29, Gilberto will be releasing the EP ‘Bebel Gilberto Live @ The Belly Up’. Featuring only her and guitarist Masa Shimizu, the songs are stripped down, offering a raw feel to the music.
Gilberto also has released a cover to one Radiohead’s most popular tracks-“Creep”. As you hear, Gilberto defiantly changes the mood and tone of the song. Moody and filled with tension, it’s undeniably hard to be in awe over Gilberto’s rendition.
