Viet Cong share "Silhouettes" from forthcoming Jagjaguwar release

Viet Cong’s self-titled debut album is hitting January 20 worldwide on Jagjaguwar (excluding Canada where it will be released via Flemish Eye) and the band have today premiered a second song “Silhouettes” via The Fader, who write that the track “further flexes the gothic urgency teased by that Bauhaus cover, storming away from the stoned psych-pop heard on the EP’s mellower moments with some melodic synths and a big, gloomily sung chorus.” Matt Flegel from the band told Fader the song “deals with themes that are common and dear to me: disconnection, intoxication, lapse of memory, regret, and the ability to laugh something off.”

Early responses to the album have been excellent with critics and fans alike highly anticipating its release, Pitchfork gave the first single “Continental Shelf” a Best New Track stamp of approval as well as naming the track number 87 in their 2014 Best Songs of 2014 list.

A strong EP, quite a few scorching singles, and most importantly, quality music have the collective music world drooling for their album.”
