The Mynabirds are pleased to release “Hanged Man” the first of several songs from the new album, Lovers Know, recorded live at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles. Starring Mynas band leader Laura Burhenn playing Nat King Cole’s piano, the song featured a string section, and was lit by cell phone light (thanks to a captive and highly willing audience).
Having premiered on Paper Magazine the video is now available to watch and share on Youtube.
The Mynabirds are on the road now in support of the release and a full list of tour dates are available below and on their official website. Lovers Know premiered on NPR Music, is out now via Saddle Creek, and is available to purchase via the label’s website and iTunes.
Led by Laura Burhenn and produced by Bradley Hanan Carter of Black English, The Mynabirds third full-length album, Lovers Know, explores influences of 80s, 90s, and futuristic soundscapes. The result is arguably one of Burhenn’s most personal and confessional works to date, yet also her most accessible, delving deep into universal themes of love, loss, and seeking connection.
