Sam Martin releases video for "Bye Bye"

As vocalist for Omaha indie rock band, Capgun Coup, Sam Martin got an acrid taste of the rock star lifestyle. In 2007, he quit his job and kissed any sort of financial stability goodbye.
Fast-forward to 2014 and Martin has been spending his time bouncing back and forth between the United States and Canada, recording music, scoring a film (Nik Fackler’s Sick Birds Die Easy), playing shows, and becoming a husband.
He partnered up with the Omaha indie label, Make Believing Recordings, and is prepared to release his first solo album, A Notion in an Ocean. Lead single, “Bye Bye,” finds a lighthearted Martin reflecting on the woes of shedding adolescence and entering adulthood.
“The song is about transitioning from a self pity, party addict lifestyle to a more sustainable pursuit of happiness,” Martin explains. “And how people get butt hurt that you’re moving on when they are still stuck in that trap. I wanted the video to be weird and make a fool of myself.”
He recently released a video for “Bye Bye”.  Check it out here:
