Pattern Is Movement announce final tour (2015)

These are the last days of Pattern Is Movement. Twenty-two years after Andrew Thiboldeaux and Christopher Ward met in their hometown of Philadelphia — and thirteen years since their first show — the duo has officially announced the conclusion of the band.
Pattern Is Movement’s era gave way to four critically-acclaimed albums (including 2014’s eponymous Pattern Is Movement), a playful entourage of singles and covers (time to revisit D’Angelo and Beyoncé), and years of passionate and near-iconic side-by-side live shows with Ward on drums and Thiboldeaux on Rhodes, synth, bass, and vocals. They joined the stage with a spectrum of bands that, like Pattern Is Movement, both defied and defined what it meant to create and perform music at the turn of this century: The Roots, Shudder to Think, John Vanderslice, Wye Oak, and St. Vincent (as Annie Clark’s first backing band in 2006 and again as a tourmate in 2008). Pattern Is Movement bloomed on the vines of R&B, Hip Hop, Rock, and Gospel that wrapped around them and the city of Philadelphia — where they will play their last show on June 20, 2015.
And they are celebrating all the way there. Pattern Is Movement have announced a complete farewell tour, a Shaking Through session airing in mid-May, and a brand new song out on Joyful Noise’s 2015 Flexi Disc Series. Pattern Is Movement’s longtime label Hometapes will also be re-presenting Pattern Is Movement’s discography and the vast universe of media surrounding it, from album art to remixes to videos and more.
