Good Fight Music announced the newest addition to its family of bands: Hollow Earth.
From the Detroit, Michigan area, Hollow Earth was founded in 2011 by vocalist Steve Muczynski and guitarist Mike Moynihan, both ex-members of Shai Hulud. The Hollow Earth sound is that of feral, metallic hardcore, anchored by a grand, apocalyptic weight that hints at a love for sludge and doom. Lyrics paint nightmarish accounts of dejection, suffering, and impending doom on both the personal and global levels.
The band’s 2012 debut EP, We Are Not Humanity, was released on Panic Records, the label owned by Trial guitarist Timm McIntosh. This was followed by the debut full-length, Silent Graves, also on Panic, in 2014. Produced by Andy Nelson (Harm’s Way, Weekend Nachos) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Integrity, Nails), Silent Graves was named “one of metallic hardcore’s best offerings this year” by Invisible Oranges. MetalSucks hailed the album as “in the vein of Converge, Nails, and Enabler… To call it ‘a scorcher’ and/or ‘a ripper’ would be to undersell.”
Since its formation, Hollow Earth has toured relentlessly, teaming up with bands like Trial, Old Wounds, Axis, and Exalt. The band embarks next week for a short tour that includes dates with Cult Leader.
