Starting today, Grateful Dead fans in the United States and Canada can pre-order an exclusive webcast package of all five “Fare Thee Well” concerts this summer. For $79.95 — a $50 discount for those who pre-order by May 15 — viewers will have full access to the broadcast across the Internet, which they can than watch on any device, and participate in the concert event that Billboard says “will go down in rock history.” This exclusive offer will be available at http://dead50.mlb.com/concert/dead50/ today through May 15.
“This is probably one of, if not the biggest, concert events of all-time,” said Nate Parienti, President of Live Alliance, — the production company behind the broadcast. “To be a part of it is a dream come true. We’re thrilled to be able to bring this event to generations of fans all over the world.”
Viewers outside of the United States and Canada can also qualify for the pre-order by submitting their e-mail address on http://dead50.mlb.com/concert/dead50/ between May 1 and May 15. They will be sent an email at a later date with info on how to purchase the pre-order.
“Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead” — taking place June 27 and 28 in Santa Clara, CA, and July 3, 4, and 5 in Chicago — will feature the four original members of Grateful Dead, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir, reuniting for their last-ever performances together. The concerts will take place nearly 20 years to the day of the last Grateful Dead concert with Jerry Garcia, and the band will be joined by Trey Anastasio (guitar), Jeff Chimenti (keyboards), and Bruce Hornsby (piano).
