Black Rob shares "Welcome To My Life"

Harlem’s own Black Rob has released a new song today titled “Welcome To My Life.” Respected for his gritty flow and deeply confessional lyrics the song (Produced by The BPM Boyz) is a triumphant return for Rob and bears a strong soulful hook (courtesy of Harley).

Along with news of the track’s release comes the announcement of Black Rob’s first new album in four years. Genuine Article will be released by Slimstyle Records (Cormega, Doo Wop/Lord Tariq) on April 21st. More than an album title Black Rob (born Robert Ross of Spanish Harlem) embodies all that is authentic of New York City hip-hop. His tenure as a recording artist included a spectacular rise from poverty to platinum success. On the flip-side he has lost momentum at times due to the machinations of the recording industry as well as spells in incarceration. Genuine Article is the product of a seasoned street soldier whose music can hit both the clubs and the streets.
Guest emcees on Genuine Article include Sean Price, Tek (Smif-n-Wessun), battle legend, Murda Mook as well as up and comer Quas Amill. Hooks come courtesy of Ron Browz (“Arab Money”), former Bad Boy label-mate Q. Parker (112), Kali Ranks and Quan. Producers on Genuine Article include Easy Mo Bee (Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac), Coptic (Boot Camp Clik, Memphis Bleek), Big French (KRS-One), The BPM Boyz, Numonics, Money L and Bishop.
